Micro Laser Peel™

So many of our patients come in wanting results that will really make a difference in their skin tone and texture. They aren’t satisfied with the “light” results of light chemical peels and are looking for something more. The Micro Laser Peel is the step between a lighter microdermabrasion and a very deep laser skin resurfacing treatment. If this sounds like something you’re interested in, talk to the staff at LazaDerm to find out more.

What is the Micro Laser Peel™?

It is a minimal to full epidermal laser peel that precisely removes the outermost layers of the skin.  The procedure is individually tailored to the nature of the problem, whether it’s wrinkles, scars, keratoses or pigmentation problems.

Who should consider a Micro Laser Peel?

If you’re looking for better results than microdermabrasion or light chemical peels can offer, yet are willing to dedicate a few days to the healing process and repeat treatments, this might be for you.

How is it different from Microdermabrasion?

Generally, microdermabrasion only removes the outer layer of skin. The Micro Laser Peel is a minimal to full epidermal peel that goes deeper into the epidermis.

How often does it need to be done?

One procedure could be sufficient for at least 6 to12 months, but additional procedures can be performed as required. A package of three to four treatments may be best for you. Dr. Hansen will help determine what is necessary for you during your skincare consultation.

What can I expect?

Smoother, healthier more vibrant skin. You will notice a significant and immediate change in skin texture and tightness when compared to microdermabrasion.

Will I need anesthesia?

A topical anesthetic is applied thirty to forty-five minutes before the procedure to help numb the area and keep you comfortable.

What type of dressing or bandage will I need?

None! You will be prescribed an ointment that will act as a barrier to keep the air away from your skin while it heals. You will probably use it for one to two days. After that, a moisturizer can be used.

How long is the healing process?

The healing process varies from patient to patient but will generally take from two to four days. The procedure can be performed on Thursday or Friday and you can return to work the following Monday. Immediately following the procedure you will feel as if you have a bad sunburn. You will have minor sloughing and itchiness the following day. By day two, redness will begin to fade and by day three any redness can be easily covered by makeup.
